I’d wager this is not the USA, but why the slight towards american architecture and construction anyway? As an American i can honestly say this comment has not offended me in any way, it just confuses me.
Europeans build with rocks and concrete. Americans build with sticks and paper. Just like the man says!
My house is brick… I live in the pathetic ol’ U.S. of A. Not saying I’m proud of my country (who could be, living here?), but I certainly don’t live in a house of sticks and paper! Where’d that stereotype come from? I’d never encountered it before.
To be clear. I am an american, and I am an expert in construction. Your house is sticks and paper wrapped with a single poorly constructed layer of brick. In europe they build with SOLID masonry walls. Their houses will last forever. Ours will probably outlast one mortgage cycle before extensive construction is needed.
BTW – I am extremely proud to be an american!
