It’s parodying the old educational kids’ show, ZOOM, which had its logo in the same font and had its child stars where very similar outfits. I’m still not sure what the exact purpose of this video is, but it’s definitely spoofing on ZOOM.
They weren’t trying to learn PI from the robot. They pulled the used the old Star Trek trick of keeping it occupied by asking to to calculate the last digit of Pi. Now they can continue their mad experiments of magic and canned food.
Um…the rest? In case you don’t remember, but pi goes on forever.
I used to love zoom. I like Pi day (3/14) too. Two years ago, I brought in pies for pi day to work. People appreciated it (at 1:59), but it was lost on lots. It’s amazing how things we were supposed to memorize as kids actually have meaning now that you look back at them with a different perspective. Learning ‘how’ we got pi I think is more important, and relevent than the rote memorization. It also makes the understanding of circumfrance and areas much easier to comprehend.
I’m glad some people actually got that this was hard n’ phirm. This isn’t a wtf show – it’s a parody video by an awesome band who writes awesome songs about science! This song is the reason I involuntarily know 75 digits of pi
I used to watch this video all the time. half the stuff that was on ebaumsworld.com back in the day could be wtf’s on here, but i think this website should be a step above stealing silly parodies and weird videos.
Hard N Phirm does university tours and they use a lot of their music videos (such as this one) in the show. Most of their other songs have videos that reflect the strage concepts of their music comedy. I have their whole album of songs, and this is not the strangest. WTF fail.
i’ve loved this video for a long time…. i know all the digits in it.
how i wish i was still in high school or college; i would definitly write as much pi as i could remember at the end of every test, hahaha
i once got kicked out of a chat room for reciting as much as i could recall from memory; they refused to believe that i wasnt just randomly typing numbers or used a cut and paste method.
i don’t know about you.. but i think those traffic cone hats are tre chic.
Should have included the rest of the video, it’s even weirder…
I thought that was fairly fantastic actually, now it’s in my head.

Where is the rest?!?!?!?! Bring it on! Bring it all on! At least until they are done singing all the digits of pi….
@The What Now?
Oops. Somehow the word “where” got into my post where the word “wore” should have been.
They weren’t trying to learn PI from the robot. They pulled the used the old Star Trek trick of keeping it occupied by asking to to calculate the last digit of Pi. Now they can continue their mad experiments of magic and canned food.
Is PIU getting lazy? A simple google search reveals this to be a kooky music video. It’s *supposed* to be strange.
This is a music video for the band hard n firm.
@Ducky
err Hard and Phirm, wonky spellings always get me.
Just stop the video before it gets started, and it becomes a WTF. Anyone could do that with any video.
At least, unlike the original Zoom show, the kids kept their friggin’ shows on!
“frigg’n shoes”
Sorry ‘bot the spelling error! (And I have far less of an excuse than poor Ducky!)
Hard n’ Phirm for the win! Though why you didn’t post the entire video is beyond me, the rap part is my favorite.
I have to say this is my new second-favorite movie about pi.
this video made my frikkin day i think its my new favorite music video
I swear to God, this is the exact video I saw in my mind when the teacher was trying to explain Math to me…
This tune rocks !!! Are there more of them about another matemathical constants perhaps ?
That was the coolest thing ever wish they would show the rest
Um…the rest? In case you don’t remember, but pi goes on forever.

I actually kinda liked the song.
Why were the kids dumping canned food into a trash can???
ps Andy, does everyone at work call you squeak, little bitch, or piece of shit???
Odd that on the most educational video on this site that so many people made careless spelling mistakes…
PS — Andy’s a douche.
i have the 3.141592653589793238462643… part in mp4 with the numbers playing… but didnĀ“t know about this group ^^

this song sounds nice!
the costumes reminded me a bit of the pet shop boys…”can you forgive her?” i think.
not very wtf in my opinion.
The Pi song
by Hard N Phirm.
It’s meant to be weird like that. Based on the old show “ZOOM”. Love this song.
@Ducky
No, it’s an “N”, not the word “and”

It’s like ZOOM on a bad acid trip…
I loved zoom
Mathematics has never been so terrifying.
I watched this and thought “Wow, I’ve seen this somewhere before. . . ”
Then I read the comments and saw that it was a band called Hard N Phirm.
Now I can’t remember where I heard of them.. .
If aliens ever catch wind of this, they will surely invade.
I have seen this, if you showed the whole video, this would make more sense.
Does anyone else think the “wizard” on the right could be Weird Al if his hair was a bit longer?
wow…. were exactly can i find the rest of this?
Did anyone notice the dog inside the “crystal ball”?
Not exactly comedy, but still…
So irrational…..
i’ve loved this video for a long time…. i know all the digits in it.

@Jasmine
ytmd.com?
Wait.. ZOOM was an ‘old’ show?
Damnit.
Man they sound heaps like Hot Chip.
Oh man, I love Hard ‘N Phirm.
Looks like something you’d see on “To Catch A Predator”.
@The What Now?
Yeah, I used to watch ZOOM.
The rest of it I really, really don’t get. Lol.
This doesn’t deserve a WTF. It’s fine. Everybody loves the pi song.
